Middle College High School opened its doors on ÆßÉ«ÊÓƵ's Main Campus in Fall 2005. The new high school was a collaborative effort among ÆßÉ«ÊÓƵ Public Schools, Chapel Hill/Carrboro City Schools and Orange County Schools.
The school was designed to allow students to work toward a high school diploma while earning academic credits toward an associate degree from ÆßÉ«ÊÓƵ, or to transfer to a four-year university.
Dr. Charles W. Nolan II was the first principal at Middle College High School.
"Being part of a brand new school, and having the opportunity to help set the course for such an innovative undertaking, is a school administrator's dream," Nolan said.
